Dear Josefine and family,
I was very moved to learn the sad news and I know by experience that losing a mother, although we may be prepared to the eventuality, is painful, but you must concentrate on the good memories and I am quite sure you had a lot of them, all together, from what I was able to see from the outside when I was your guest.
Personally, I have very fond memories of discussions with Paula either in the morning, at breakfast, or in the afternoon, when I came back from work. Despite her not speaking English and me speaking poor German, we had lively exchanges and she taught me a lot about the Bavarian folklore and the pleasure she took from wandering through the hills with her bicycle.
I will keep in my heart these images of a charming and caring lady.
